And so the luminous one went back to the fabled old city that, once upon a blue moon, held all the prestige in ''le Haut-Canada'' - or was it in ''le Bas-Canada'' truly? Aye; it all has gone towards ''le Bas'' indeed... all the way down-down-down-down-DOWN, as Rita-Rita used to sing it so, ah, poorly actually! And so he returned to that old township; he returned to it and he found nothing more than a city in ruins! Not ''old world'' nor ''ancient civilization'' type of ruins, mind you; not worthy ruins, hence - just plain old ruins! And it became evident to all why they called it ''La Vieille Capitale'' now... Just look at it:
Everything old is.. still old in this ''old capital''...!
Restoration required - oftentimes urgently!
Even the UNESCO has to intervene here in order to try and help
prevent it from all falling apart to little pieces...!
Best of luck with that endeavor, Mr and Mrs Unesco...!
Profane so-called artwork co-habitates with genuine
(if only truly imitative of actual great works of) art -
giving the ensemble an air of... vulgar anarchy, if you ask me!
All roads lead to Rome;
however, here, in Quebec City, a great many staircases and shortcuts
lead absolutely nowhere!
Lest it leads to a crossroads in the fabric of time itself?
Which would still be something akin to ''nowhere'' indeed!
In short...
You'd have to be a little Mʻşwgʼas to like it there...
